Soccer News: Brazil Fires Manager After Poor World Cup Showing

News

I mean…if you consider the quarter finals a “poor” showing.

The man known simply as Dunga was removed from his position at the top of Brazilian soccer over the weekend after Brazil’s loss to Netherlands in the quarterfinals.

Dunga has been questioned for months for playing a more defensive style rather than letting Brazil’s talented forwards attack and be creative with the ball.

The Brazilian soccer federation said a new manager will be hired by the end of the month and candidates include former Brazil player Mano Menezes, AC Milan coach Leonardo and Wanderley Luxemburgo.

Whoever the next coach turns out to be, they will have immense pressure on themselves as Brazil is set to host the World Cup in 2014 and Brazil will once again be a favorite to win.
