As first reported by MMA Fighting Brock Lesnar will defend his world heavyweight title against Cain Velasquez in Anaheim, California on October 23rd at UFC 121. The fight will pit the dominant world champion against another undefeated heavyweight, with Velasquez on a six fight win-streak in the UFC having demolished Antonio Rodrigo Nogueria in his last fight at UFC 110.
Lesnar vs Velasquez will be the organization’s first event at the Honda Centre since UFC 76 and the first heavyweight title fight to take place outside of Las Vegas since Randy Couture vs. Gabriel Gonzaga fought at UFC 74 in the summer of 2007. It is likely that the California native Velasquez will be the heavy crowd favorite.
