New York Yankee Owner George Steinbrenner has passed away after a massive heart attack according to sources close to the family.
“It is with profound sadness that the family of George M. Steinbrenner III announces his passing. He passed away this morning in Tampa, Fla., at age 80,” the family said in a statement.
He was rushed to a Tampa hospital Monday night by EMTs, where he was in serious condition.
Steinbrenner was 80 years old.
This comes days after Bob Sheppard, long time PA man for the Yankees, passed away.
