Starting this October Marvel is adding a new title to the MAX line, DeadpoolMAX by David Lapham and Kyle Baker. While that might feel like character milking….and might as well just be called character milking, I could see this book being entertaining. I mean, if nothing else, you have two Eisner winning creators teaming up.
I mean, you have David Lapham who is well known for Stray Bullets and Young Liars, and you have Kyle Baker who handled art on Truth: Red, White, and Black as well as being the writer-artist for the Plastic Man ongoing series a few years ago. Two top notch creators being given the keys to what promises to be the most immature book in Marvel’s mature line.
Is it too much? Probably.
Will it be fun? I have a good feeling.
