10 Thoughts On Superstars 07.15.2010 – feat Chris Jericho, Maryse, Chavo

Reviews, Shows, Top Story, TV Shows

1. I don’t think that highly of myself, and I really think that the WWE has better things to do than read my column. So I don’t assume any credit. But I’ve been saying for ages that Superstars needs to pair up a mid-carder and an elite star. Oh hey look! Chris Jericho vs Yoshi Tatsu in the main event! Good lookin’ out, guys.

2. Chavo Guerrero vs JTG. I feel like the WWE is being sarcastic.

3. Chavo actually doesn’t look too bad tonight. I guess that’s what happens when they remember he’s a professional wrestler, not a midget’s punching bag.

4. The Local Guys were a little too eccentric for my taste, but they didn’t look terrible. Curt Hawkins shined though; and Vance Archer seems to get taller every week.

5. There is a fan wearing a Marvin the Martian helmet. That just made my day.

6. I was content with the Bellas acting as arm candy to the Raw guest hosts, because it would only take up about thirty seconds of my time. But now I’m forced to watch them every week on Superstars. I’m not okay with that.

7. The way Maryse sells a clothes-line is mortifying.

8. Justin Gabriel has gone from looking conflicted and guilty before the 450 Splash, to looking demented and vengeful. I loving this new development.

9. Did Yoshi Tatsu not get the memo that chops were banned?

10. Jericho did a stellar job of not only establishing himself and maintaining credibility as the super-heel that he is, but also building up Tatsu and entertaining the crowd completely. What a champ.

Once again, Superstars left me with a smile on my face. I was entertained (for the most part) and actually enjoyed what I was watching (again, for the most part). The Raw Divas…that’s a whole different opinion in itself. But the rest of the show was yet another improvement. Even in a tag match against some local talent, I didn’t feel the urge to reach for the remote and hit the fast-forward button. I hope more are done like this. A match between the likes of Jericho and Tatsu was so off-the-wall and different, I was captivated. Keep it going, Superstars. You’re nearly there!
