So after taking a week off due to the holiday I am back with what I thought was a pretty cool topic. So I posed the question to the foum “What is you favorite comic book gadget?”. Lets jump right in shall we? The 1st thing that surprised me was the amount of vehicles people listed. The very 1st post got this going from Dhaise who simply said The Batmobile. I completely agree. I also would have added Batman’s utility belt buy for the life of me I can’t remember that being used that much. From here we get mentions of Ship from the old school X-Factor run, the Millenium Falcon, the Leapfrog from Runaways, and The Carrier from The Authority. Some people like AFN just gave us some huge lists, and as usual with him he brought the funny:

Proton Pack, Megatron as a gun, Spider-man 2099’s cape, Mandarin’s rings, General Tso’s Chicken, Prime’s energon axe, Jeff Loeb’s Tim Sale (some how has the power to make Loeb work enjoyable), Brian Bendis’s plot holes, Dr. Doom’s everything, Ultimate nullifier, H.E.R.B.I.E., Hellboy’s Gun, Tony Hawk’s skateboard, Lois Lane’s personal massager”
As for me personally I can’t stand Doom Bots or LMD’s. Just throwing that out there. We also had the token mentions of Iron Man’s suits which was a given because they are pretty cool even if I am not a fan of the character. For me I’d have gone with the X-O Manowar armor but I have already discussed that in a previous article. We had a couple of good ones come from Beadle:
“How about web-shooters? Oh no. I’ve got it. Paste Pot Pete’s paste gun. Doc Ock’s arms would be a very cool gadget if only he had someone around who created large spots in space which he could attack through. Stilt-Man’s stilts. Strictly speaking, a Cosmic Cube is technological. AIM made one. So if you could get me one of those for my birthday, that’d be great.”
Wow another Spot reference. You could almost say these very articles almost have a continuity to them. Wolverine0712 came up with 2 that I would not have thought of off the top of my head but that’s why this article is about the forums and not just me.
“Nightcrawler’s Image Inducer – Imagine the fun someone could have with that. You could look like anyone you wanted.
Cerebro – Probably the ultimate gadget as you could find any mutant in the world (if they existed). I’m sure you could make some pretty disturbing discoveries with it.”
I’d also like to spotlight 2 of my favorite suggestions. The 1st from AFN:
“Amadeus’s gameboy.”
and the other from Nalydpsycho:
“Does Rhino keychain count?”
Of course the keychain counts because it was awesome. As for me I had one especially that, in my mind, is one of the deadliest weapons known to man. That would be Spider Jerusalem’s Bowel Disruptor gun. For those of you that have read Transmetropolitan you have a very clear idea of the damage that can be done with it. The setting called Prolapse is very frightening to me. Actually that whole series had all kinds of cool gadgets. So what do the rest of you think? The whole thread can be found here:

Well that’s it for another article The forums have been a bit quiet lately but it is summer time and not everyone spends their nights in front of a computer. As always go read all of our opinions on all the great (or not so great) comics that we read.
