Heavyweights David Tua and Monte Barrett fought to a majority draw through 12 rounds in Atlantic City on Saturday night. The scores were 113-113, 113-113, and 115-111 Tua. Monte Barrett (34-9-1, 20 KOs) was behind going into the last round but rallied to notch the draw. In the 12th round, David Tua (51-3-2, 43 KOs) was deducted a point for throwing Barrett to the floor. Then, for the first time in his career, Tua was knocked down. Only seconds remained in the fight. As it turned out, Barrett needed all of those points to escape defeat.
