Fernando Montiel retained his bantamweight titles with a third round KO of Rafael Concepcion. Montiel (43-2-2, 33 KOs) dropped Concepcion (14-5-1, 8 KOs) three times during the fight. Concepcion was down twice in the second. The third knockdown came in the third round and proved to be the final punch of the fight.
Fernando Montiel may be the next opponent for Nonito Donaire, who announced his move to the bantamweight division last week.
