Light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley made a successful move up to the welterweight division on Saturday night in Rancho Mirage, CA. Bradley (26-0, 11 KOs) defeated Luis Carlos Abregu by unanimous decision with scores of 118-110, 117-111, and 116-112. Abregu (29-1, 23 KOs) suffered his first defeat.
On the undercard, light middleweight Alfredo Angulo made quick work of Joachim Alcine, stopping him by TKO in the first round. Referee Lou Moret stopped the fight with just one second remaining in the first round as Angulo battered Alcine against the ropes. Alfredo Angulo improved to 19-1, 16 KOs with the win while Joachim Alcine fell to 32-2, 19 KOs.
