NCAA News: Florida Gators And NCAA Looking Into Possible Rules Violation

News

The team and the organizational body are looking into whether or not Maurkice Pouncey received illegal funds from an agent last season.

Sources have said the two sides are looking into a report of Pouncey receiving $100,000 between the SEC Championship Game and the Sugar Bowl.

The NCAA wants to find out how much the coaching staff did know, and how much they should have known.

Pouncey entered the NFL draft after his junior season and was taken in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. If found to have accepted the alleged payment, he could be retroactively ruled ineligible for the Sugal Bowl and Florida might have to vacate the victory.

Florida police are also looking into whether or not the state’s agent registration laws were broken.
