NFL News: Baltimore Ravens Safety Ed Reed Likely To Start Season On PUP List

News

Reed underwent hip surgery in the offseason, and doesn’t expect to be fully ready by the start of the season.

Reed was talking to a Baltimore radio station and said he would be starting training camp on the PUP list and wouldn’t let the team take him off until he felt he was ready.

If Reed starts the regular season on the PUP list, he has to miss the first 6 games of the season.

“I had to reconstruct my whole hip,” said Reed. “It’s not something where I can say, ‘I’m going to be back.’ I’m not coming back until I’m well and ready. I don’t care what anybody says. I know I can play football. I’m going to take my time with this and be sure.”
