News

MMA Junkie is reporting that light heavyweight prospect Phil Davis will now be fighting Rodney Wallace at UFC 117, replacing the injured Stanislav Nedkov. The original fight has apparently been removed from the UFC website although there has been no official announcement from the organization. The fight against Wallace was to have been Nedkov’s debut in the promotion and MMAJunkie have been unable to get any word from his management about the nature of the injury he has suffered.

Both Phil Davis and Rodney Wallace wrestled throughout their youth, with Davis having won a NCAA tournament while Wallace is a three-time state high school wrestling champion. This will be both fighters’ third match in the UFC with Davis undefeated in the organisation while Wallace is on a two-fight losing streak.
