At Marvel’s Mondo Marvel panel they dropped a few bombshells, but one of the biggies to me is that Mark Waid will be writing Captain America again! Captain America: Man Out Of Time is a five-issue miniseries with an as of yet unannounced artist that will explore Captain America in his early days after being unfrozen, acclimating to life in a time not his own. I can’t think of any instances of this really being explored, so there’s a lot of potential here. It’s like a Captain America: Year One for his Avengers years.
Mark Waid previous wrote Captain America in the 90’s, both before and after Heroes Reborn, and he wrote some amazing stuff. Ever get a chance to read Man Without A Country? Read it. Waid completely got the character, and the notion of getting to see him write him again has me giddy. I can not wait.
