The team announced the surgery on Friday.
The surgery was performed last week and deemed to be a success. Bryant is in the midst of rehab, and a full recovery is expected in time for the Lakers’ training camp on Sept. 25.
This is the third time Bryant has had his knee surgically repaired. He also had it fixed in 2003 and 2006.
Bryant struggled at the start of the playoffs before having the knee drained prior to Game 5 of the first round against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Bryant averaged 24 points on 38.3 percent shooting against the Thunder and improved dramatically after having his knee drain averaging 30.3 points on 47.3 percent shooting through the rest of the Lakers title run.
