Full Clip for The Goon Unveiled, Kicks Bountiful Ass

News, Trailers

MTV has posted the full preview clip for The Goon, Blur Studios and David Fincher’s upcoming adaptation of Eric Powell’s amazing comic book … and it is awesome.

Now that you’ve wiped the drool from your face after seeing that preview, here comes the bad news: the movie does not have a greenlight or even a home. Despite a voice cast that includes Paul Giamatti and Clancy Brown and the participation of Academy Award nominated director David Fincher, The Goon does not have studio backing.

Powell’s comic book series is about a hulking bruiser named The Goon who, between mercenary jobs, keeps his city safe from zombies, demons, monsters and evil scientists. The book is flat-out funny and the short teaser produced for the proposed project looks like it will be just as fun. Let’s hope that the buzz that comes out of this year’s Comic-Con for this project is enough to get this movie some financing so that at next year’s convention we can get more than a simple teaser.
