Oh, No, There Goes Tokyo! First Look At New Godzilla

News, Projects

Debuting at this past weekend’s Comic-Con was the first look at Legendary Studios’ upcoming Godzilla remake. Printed on t-shirts and handed out at the convention by Legendary Pictures, this first look at Godzilla is part of the new trend in computer craziness — augmented reality.

When wearing the t-shirts and standing in front of the Legendary Pictures tradeshow booth, Comic-Con attendees could see their shirts come alive and Godzilla bellow a stream of atomic breath. Pretty damn spiffy, right?

I’m digging the design of the new Godzilla. More faithful then the ’90s reboot, this Godzilla retains most of the charm of the original man in suit while clearly amping the ferocity and danger factor of a giant killer lizard. I’m curious to see this creation in motion but, in the meantime, I’m content to watch the video of an augmented reality Godzilla in action.
