Elvis Presley's Granddaughter Joining the Cast of Fury Road

Casting News, News

My my my, this is an interesting development. Who would have ever expected that Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough, would want to go post-apocalyptic on somebody’s ass. Though her only claim to fame may be her relation to “The King,” this 21-year-old hottie looks primed for action in George Miller’s long-gestating sequel Mad Max: Fury Road – this, according to Heat Vision. The title, while fitting for Mad Mel, will not feature the troubled star. In his place is Tom Hardy, who was one of the breakout stars in this summer’s Inception. Fury Road will also star Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult. Keough will be playing one of the “Five Wives” along with Zoe Kravitz (from the recent release Twelve) and Adelaide Clemens (“Love My Way”, “All Saints”).

The movie’s plot is being kept secret, but things take place a short while after the story detailed in 1985’s Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, the third in the series. That definitely explains why Miller’s going with Hardy over Gibson. As to what are the “Five Wives,” they are a group of women that Mad Mex must protect from the bad guys.

A start date for the production is still unknown, but the release is still a go for 2012.
