A title of much discussion has been the Robert Rodriguez/Quentin Tarantino collaboration Grindhouse. It was originally released in theaters back in April 2007 as a double-bill with fake trailers (directed by Rob Zombie, Edgar Wright, and Eli Roth) in between. However, it’s limited run in theaters meant that not everyone could share in the “grindhouse experience.” The films, Planet Terror (by Rodriguez) and Death Proof (by Tarantino), have had individual releases on DVD and Blu-ray but have not been presented as it was theatrically. Until now.
Vivendi Visual Entertainment has revealed the disc contents for Grindhouse: 2-Disc Collector’s Edition (SRP: $39.95). Previously, we told you that Edgar Wright tweeted about his participation with the release. It now looks like it will hit Blu-ray on October 5th. The Blu-ray will exclusively feature extended trailers, featurettes and still galleries.
