Rob Liefeld Gives His Two Cents On The Green Lantern And Deadpool Movies With Ryan Reynolds

News

Rob Liefeld got on twitter the other day to let his thoughts be heard concerning the upcoming Ryan Reynolds superhero movies. Now, this might seem odd until you consider that Liefeld created Deadpool, and that if they film back to back to back Green Lantern movies, then that might just put the kibosh on Deadpool. Obviously Rob wants the Deadpool movie made, hell, I do too, but here’s some tweets by him on the matter.

Warner Bros. just trying to protect their investment. They don’t want Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool AND Green Lantern. Interesting 2 watch

Please direct Deadpool @RobertRdz !!!!! I’m not above begging! Thanks!

Bottom line about Deadpool film is that if FOX doesn’t pull the DP film together with Ryan Reynolds between GL films-they should Hari Kari

Ryan Reynolds is the new Will Smith, if FOX can’t maximize this window of opportunity with this star, this character, that script=MASSV FAIL

You have it reversed @GeekTyrant it’s Warners that wants to film back 2 back GL’s and disrupt Deadpool. Not FOX!! Get it right!

Funny thing is that if you google “Deadpool movie” a bunch of Green Lantern stories pop up. Crazy.

Hopefully cool heads prevail and are reminded of Harrison Ford and how he played Indiana Jones and Hal Solo simultaneously.

This is actually why I’m a fan of Rob, not his artwork or his writing, but of just his sheer love for what he does. It’s inspiring, and I would be happy for him to get to go and declare that one of his creations is now a major motion picture. Even if he can’t draw feet, he does raise some good points.

My question is what Ryan Reynolds playing two big superhero roles in such short order would do though, if audiences would get annoyed or if nobody would give it a second thought.
