The second year back out of Alabama has decided to hang them up.
The 49ers and all of the NFL were shocked this morning when Glen Coffee announced he would be retiring from the NFL after one season.
Coffee made this statement through the team, “This has been a tough decision for me to make, but at this time in my life I feel it is best for me that I move on from football. I appreciate what the 49ers, my teammates and coaches have done for me, and I wish them a blessed season and all the best in the future.”
While Coffee hasn’t announced a reason for his sudden retirement, friends have guessed that he may be headed into ministry.
