Westbrook was expected to go to the St. Louis Rams, but he signed with teh 49ers today.
Westbrook and the 49ers have agreed to a one-year contract, finanical terms weren’t immediately releases.
The 49ers had a whole in the backfield after back-up RB Glen Coffee abrutly retired last week.
Westbrook spent the first eight years of his career in Philadelphia but was released this offseason after missing 8 games with a concussion last season.
