Casting News, News, Press Releases

So much for Alice Eve being Emma Frost in Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class. Variety is confirming that January Jones has stepped into role of Emma Frost. Rosamund Pike (Surrogates) was also rumored for the role, but it appears that Jones has emerged as the clear cut favorite.

The Frost character originated in Uncanny X-Men issue #129 as The White Queen, a prominent member of the Hellfire Club, a group of wealthy mutants who used their power and powers to confound the X-Men, and would play a major role in “The Dark Phoenix Saga.” She would later be brought in the X-Men fold by Charles Xavier. In film, Frost appeared briefly in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Zoe Kravitz, daughter of musician Lenny Kravitz, has also been cast as Angel Salvadore while Bill Milner (Son of Ranbow) will play Magneto as a young boy.

These three join James McAvoy, Rose Byrne, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, Edi Gathegi, Kevin Bacon, Jason Flemyng and Oliver Platt in the Marvel Comics adaptation, which will hit theaters on June 3, 2011.
