News

Anelka was suspended from the French National Team after his profanity laced tirade during the World Cup.

Anelka called the suspension a masquerade to not lose face and said he’s dying of laughter over it.

In total the french suspended 4 players for the actions the team took during the World Cup, captain Patrice Evra got a five-match ban, Frank Ribery a three-match ban, and Jeremy Toulalan a one-match suspension.

The 18-match ban is expected to last for nearly two years, meaning that by the time he’s again eligible to play for “Les Bleus,” Anelka will be 33 and unlikely to be recalled.
