The move comes a month after Lee rejected a trade to LAA.
The Braves sent three pitchers to the Cubs, Robinson Lopez, Tyrelle Harris, and Jeffrey Lorick for the Cubs 1B Derrek Lee.
The Braves also received cash in the deal to offset some of the $3.3 million Lee is still owed this year.
Lee has is hitting only .251 batting average entering Wednesday’s game, that is well below his .282 career average and the .306 he hit last season. He is in the final year of a five-year, $65 million deal with the Cubs.
