Urijah Faber cleared to fight, will make bantamweight debut in November

Urijah Faber will make his delayed WEC bantamweight debut in November after recieving the medical all-clear. WEC General Manager Reed Harris told MMA Junkie that “He was good for September probably…But we had our card set already in Denver, so he’s going to fight in November. And I think he’s going to fight Takeya Mizugaki”. Mizugaki was Faber’s original opponent for WEC 51, and Harris explained that while the Japanese fighter was offered another fight but he was determined to wait until Faber had fully healed.

The fight will be the former world featherweight champion’s first fight at 135Ibs in the WEC, having gone 2-3 in his last five fights. He is coming off a brutal loss to champion Jose Aldo.
