Zab Judah was hoping his July knockout of Jose Armando Santa Cruz would put him on the fast track to a big fight at 140 pounds. It turns out that Zab won’t have such a quick resurgence.
According to Dan Rafael at ESPN.com, Zab Judah (39-6, 27 KOs) will fight again on October 2 against Michael Clark (40-5-1, 18 KOs) in Newark, NJ.
Zab and his promoter, Kathy Duva, hope an impressive showing against Michael Clark will put Judah in line for a big name in the light welterweight division such as Timothy Bradley, Devon Alexander or Amir Khan.
Michael Clark was a contestant on the second season of “The Contender,” losing on the show to Cornelius “K9” Bundrage.
