Superhero Hype has posted a possible cast list for the upcoming Spider-Man reboot and it looks like everyone’s favorite redhead is being traded in for a blonde model. At the moment Peter’s love interest may be the doomed Gwen Stacey, Felicia Hardy (also known as the Black Cat), or an entirely new character.
Right now, these actresses are in the running for the role:
~ Imogen Poots (Solitary Man and Fright Night)
~ Ophelia Lovibond (Nowhere Boy)
~ Lily Collins (The Blind Side)
~ Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice)
~ Emma Roberts (Valentine’s Day and Scream 4)
The Pulse: Kirsten Dunst was always one of the weak links of Sam Raimi’s otherwise great Spider-Man movies, and while I always preferred MJ to Gwen Stacey, I think this is a good idea to distance the movie from the previous three. Felicia Hardy is particularly interesting if she’ll also be Black Cat. Of course, the shortlist may be complete bunk.
So what do you think? Is dumping MJ the right way to go, or is the reboot off to a bad start?
