Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 musical may have only won two Academy Awards that year, but it left quite an impression. A year later, the musical Chicago would win Best Picture. Prior to that, the last musical to win Best Picture was 1968’s Oliver!. Apparently its exclamation mark had more exclamation than Moulin Rouge!
In an early announcement to retailers, 20th Century Fox has revealed that Baz Luhrmann’s musical starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor will debut on Blu-ray on October 19 with a suggested list price of $34.99.
