According to his own Twitter, Paulie Malignaggi will not only be resuming his boxing career, but he will be doing so at 147 pounds. Malignaggi claimed he couldn’t make the 140-pound weight limit and will likely take a tune-up fight in Italy before seeking bigger-named opponents. Presently, Paulie Malignaggi is trying out his acting chops. When filming concludes, Malignaggi will focus on his welterweight tune-up in Italy.
Paulie Malignaggi (27-4, 5 KOs) is a former world light welterweight champion. His last fight was in May, an 11th round TKO loss to Amir Khan. Malignaggi had hinted at retirement following the loss.
