UFC President Dana White has confirmed reports from the LA Times that Chael Sonnen will receive an immediate rematch against World Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva. Sonnen captured the imagination of fight fans worldwide when he dominated the previously untouchable Silva for almost the entirety of their 23 minute fight, losing at the very end after being caught in a triangle choke. The plan is to have Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen headline either the New Year show or the Superbowl show, depending on how quickly the champion recovers from his rib injury.
