Scream 4 adds Anna Paquin and Kristen Bell to cast

News

It looks the cast of Scream 4 just got a bit bigger and more star-laden, according to USA Today. The national newspaper broke the news that both Anna Paquin and Kristen Bell have both joined the cast to add to what is already an incredibly star-studded cast. Rumors have already been bounding all over the place that both or one of these lovely ladies could go the route of Drew Barrymore’s character in the first film of the franchise.

This is simply because of their extremely late additions to Wes Craven’s new thriller.

The gigantic cast already includes Courtney Cox Arquette, David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Rory Culkin, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Marielle Jaffe, Nico Tortorella, Erik Knudson, Adam Brody, Anthony Anderson, Marley Shelton, Mary McDonnell, and Alison Brie.

In addition to these casting announcements, there’s more news regarding the project. THR, through insiders, is claiming that the script is 140 pages long. Now the general rule is that one page equals one minute of screen time. So a 120-page script would be a two-hour feature. 120 pages is already too long for horror movies which typically run 85 to 95 minutes in length. So at 140 pages, either someone just got carried away or Judd Apatow is secretly behind the script.

Scream 4 is slated to open on April 15, 2011.
