Joss Whedon is like a kid in a candy store with this new dream job of writing and directing the Avengers. Why do I presume as much? Because he’s writing and writing, and even when he pens a scene he knows won’t even make it to shooting, he keeps going. He did an interview with Sydney Morning Herald where he talked about his career as a whole, which included this little mention about the Avengers.
“Right now I’m working on a movie that’s got enormous stipulations and is going to be changing and fluid every second. I’ve come up with dozens of scenes and lines and exchanges and monologues that I adore that are not going to be in it. But while I’m writing them they feed me, excite me and they ultimately inform the character. It all goes in.”
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I would love to get Avengers on DVD or Blu-Ray and one of the special features be a look at unused script material by Whedon. The creative process always draws me in.
