MLB News: Minnesota Twins Trade For RP Brian Fuentes

News

The Twins are suffering some injuries in their pen and Fuentes will fill in as a set-up guy.

The Twins are without left handed relievers Jose Mijares and Ron Mahay, so over the last week the Twins have added two lefties to the pen. Fuentes will fill a set-up void and pick up occasional saves if Matt Capps has been overused.

Earlier this week the Twins claimed Randy Flores off of waivers from the Rockies. Flores had a record of 2-0 and a 2.96 ERA.

Today the Twins traded a player to be named later for Los Angeles Angels closer Brian Fuentes. Fuentes has a 3.52 ERA in 38.1 innings this season. He’s been very good against left-handed hitters this year hitting just .132 against Fuentes this season.
