Mascherano had held himself out of Liverpools first two games to try to force a move, and Barcelona finally stepped up and met Liverpool’s demands for the midfielder.
Liverpool has confirmed that they have agreed to a transfer fee with Barca, reported to be an initial €16 million rising to a potential €22 million. The transfer agreement is for the next four seasons according to the Barca website.
