Four Actors get Shark Bit by Shark Night 3-D

Casting News, News

Well that didn’t take long. First Piranha 3D got a go-ahead for a sequel, and now it looks like Hollywood studios are ready to plunge into deadly waters with other aquatic life.

So if I told you that the aquatic life was sharks and that David Ellis, who directed Snakes on a Plane and two Final Destination movies, was on board to direct would that make you more or less excited?

As to who will be cast for the horror pic, titled Shark Night 3-D, we have Sinqua Walls (TV’s Friday Night Lights), Chris Carmack (The O.C.), Alyssa Diaz and Joel David Moore. Of those four, Moore has had the most visibility in films, having had a supporting role in the biggest film of all time (Avatar) and he’s no stranger to horror, having had a nasty demise in Adam Green’s Hatchet.

Written by Jesse Studenberg and Will Hayes, the story revolves around seven men and women who spend a weekend at a lake house in Louisiana’s Gulf area. When their vacation quickly becomes a nightmare of hellish shark attacks, unheard of in freshwater lakes, they soon discover that the sharks are part of a sick, greedy plan on the part of several locals.

Walls is playing a Tulane University linebacker with plans on marrying his college sweetheart (Diaz).

Carmack is the ex-boyfriend of the female lead, still uncast, who was scarred in a boating accident.

Moore is providing the comic relief as a socially awkward guy who fancies himself a young Brad Pitt.
