Fan matchmaking forces Shine Fights to move September 10th PPV

News

Shine Fights has been forced to move their September 10th PPV from Virginia due to the promotion’s novel idea of having the fans vote to determine the matchups in its eight-man lightweight tournament. Unhappy at the thought of fans playing matchmaking the local commission refused to sanction the event. While the original venue is still listed on the Shine website the promotion will now move its event to Oklahoma, although the precise location and venue has yet to be revealed.

This is not the first time that the fledging promotion has ran into last minute problems, with its previous attempt to debut on PPV being cancelled after Don King successfully secured an injunction to prevent boxer Ricardo Mayorga fighting Din Thomas and the North Carolina commission found the promotion to be failing to meet its regulations.

A Comics Nexus original, Will Cooling has written about comics since 2004 despite the best efforts of the industry to kill his love of the medium. He now spends much of his time over at Inside Fights where he gets to see muscle-bound men beat each up without retcons and summer crossovers.
