NFL News: Houston Texans Agree To Contract With Matt Lienart

News

Lienart was cut over the weekend by the Arizona Cardinals and was quickly picked up by the Texans.

The Texans agreed to a one-year-contract with Lienart, financial terms weren’t announced.

Leinart will become the Texans’ third QB behind starter Matt Schaub and Dan Orlovsky. Leinart could jump ahead of Orlovsky once he has some command of Houston’s offensive scheme.

The Texans released John David Booty to make room for Lienart.
