MLB News: Los Angeles Dodgers Manager Joe Torre To Step Down After Season

News

Torre will be the third manager to make this announcement this year.

Torre is expected to announce on Friday that he will step down as manager of the Dodgers at the end of the season. Dodgers hitting coach Don Mattingly is expected to take over for Torre next season.

This is Torre’s 28th season as a manager, third with the Dodgers. He may still keep a position within the organization.

Already this year, Bobby Cox and Lou Pinella had announced that they would step down at the end of the season. Pinella changed his mind later and stepped down midseason.
