NHL News: Pittsburgh Penguins Agree To Extension With GM Ray Shero

News

Shero has done a good enough job building the team to earn himself an extension.

The Penguins and Ray Shero agreed to a 5-year contract extension that will keep Shero as the teams GM through the 20-15-16 season.

Shero was entering the final year of the contract he signed when he took over the GM position in 2006. Shero had been an assistant GM for 14 years before being hired by the Penguins.

The Penguins have made the playoffs all four year Shero has run the team, and have made the Stanley Cup Finals twice, winning it once.
