Messi was injured late in extra time in Barca’s match against Atletico Madrid.
Lionel Messi is expected to miss Barcelona’s next two La Liga matches, home vs Sporting Gijon and at Athletic Bilbao. Barca is currently hoping Messi will be back in time for their next Champions League Match at FK Rubin Kazan.
Messi was injured when Atletico defender Tomas Ujfalusi stepped on Messi’s foot, leading to Messi rolling his ankle and damaging some ligaments in the ankle. As expected, medical tests ruled out any fracture in the leg.
Messi was replaced in the game by Bojan Krkic.
