Brown will join teammate Brian Cushing as suspended Texans.
Duane Brown, the Texans first round pick in 2008, tested positive for an unidentified substance on the league’s banned substance list and has been suspended for the next four games. Brown has said he will not appeal the suspension.
“I take full responsibility for putting myself in this situation,” he said. “I unknowingly took a supplement tainted with a banned substance and now have to deal with the consequences. After reviewing the appeal process and speaking with legal counsel, I have decided not to appeal my suspension. I understand the rules and accept my punishment.”
By not appealing the suspension, Brown will be eligible to return in time for the Texans matchup with Indianapolis Colts on November 1.
