As Kane was cutting a promo about how he will once again beat his brother at Hell in a Cell, The Undertaker’s music began, with druids bringing a casket to the ring. Kane opened the top, and there laid his father, Paul Bearer, who hadn’t been seen since The Great American Bash 2004 – left for dead by Taker in a chamber that was slowly filling with cement. (WWE.com later reported that he got out in time, but he hadn’t been heard from since.)

For photos from tonight’s Smackdown, visit WWE.com (which also has a video of Bearer’s return that we will embed here once it is available on YouTube).

Percy Pringle, the man behind the “father of destruction,” posted earlier this week on his blog that he wouldn’t comment until after Smackdown aired. Then tonight, he posted this on Twitter: “Thank you all for the kind words and support. New BLOG tomorrow with my feelings and how this came about. Night! www.PercyPringle.com.”

We will have more as it is available. Meanwhile, check out our full Smackdown report and 10 Thoughts.
