NBA News: Orlando Magic Plan To Extend Center Dwight Howard After Season

News

Howard has become a force on the blocks and the Magic don’t want to risk losing him.

Howard has two seasons left on his current contract but the Magic don’t want to risk Howard going into his contract year without a contract and are prepared to offer the All-Star Center a long-term extension after the season.

“We want Dwight to be in a Magic uniform for as long as he plays basketball,” said Magic GM Otis Smith. “That’s in the best interest of our franchise and, we hope, it is in the best interest of Dwight.”

When asked about the report during media day, Howard smiled and said he that he loved Orlando and planned to be there forever.
