10 Thoughts on WWE NXT for 09.28.2010 – A Whole Lot of Nothing

Reviews, Shows, Top Story, TV Shows

Here’s the last televised episode of WWE NXT. I’m in between watching the Cincinnati Reds game against the Houston Astros and this, so you’ll have to pardon any missed observations.

1. Last week, I had no idea that the WWE did a musical chairs contest six years ago. I watched it on YouTube and it was hilarious. Last week’s contest, however, fell well short of that mark. I got a chuckle out of the black and white instant replay in the opening video montage, though.

2. And no sooner do I abandon the video montage when I catch Jay Bruce’s awesome home run to give the Reds their first division title since 1995. I’ve been a fan since 1996 and it’s been mostly misery, so I’m glad I caught it. Now back to the show….

3. I turn back and see Hornswoggle being pushed around in a wheelbarrow. Hmm…might want to go back to the ball game. Maxine gets bonus points from me for just dumping Hornswoggle out of the wheelbarrow after she got past the finish line.

4. No CM Punk on commentary? But he promised he’d be back! This episode is the worse for wear without Punk in the booth.

5. AJ might benefit from the nerd admission in her video clip. After all, who’s left watching this show?

6. I thought they’d try to wrap up this show in four to five weeks, but they are going to extend its life online. While Heat and Velocity got better when they went online, I doubt that this will be that way. The only entertaining thing will remain the commentary.

7. The Money in the Bank toy looks pretty cool, but the talking action figures seem dumb. As a kid, I never cared if my action figures had voices, I just wanted the ability to mold them into various positions for crazy moves.

8. I feel like I’m watching an old episode of Action Zone or Superstars post-March 1997 because all they are doing is replaying segments from last week and Raw. BORE-ing.

9. Well I guess the WWE accomplished a goal tonight of having a wrestling show WITHOUT ANY WRESTLING. Watching this tonight was like having my intelligence insulted…but then again, what’s new, right?

10. The Diss the Diva segment was horrendous. Naomi’s part was entertaining, but everything else was ridiculous. I’m really surprised the crowd didn’t completely turn on this.

Well after arguably one of the most entertaining episodes of NXT, they put out the worst episode of the series. No matches and no entertaining segments. Vickie-Kaitlyn has the chance to be the Worst Match of the Year, so this series is going nowhere fast. Without CM Punk to save us, I think everyone should avoid NXT Season 3 like the plague.
