The Saints will go with two kickers for the time being.
The Saints and Carney have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract to bring Carney back to New Orleans. Carney will share kicking duties with last season’s playoff hero Garrett Hartley.
Hartley has struggled so far this season going 4-7 on attempts including missing a 29-yard attempt in overtime on Sunday.
Carney has made 473 career field goals over his 22-year-career.
The Saints haven’t made a comment about who will be released to make room for Carney, or how the kicks will be split between Carney and Hartley.
