House Of Representatives Approves Concussion Bill

News

The bill is a step in the right direction towards youth sport safety.

If passed by the Senate, the bill would set federal guidelines for dealing with concussions among student athletes who are at the greatest risk of suffering a concussion and suffering long term health problems because of it.

The bill would require the government to get together with medical and athletic experts to come up with guidelines for the prevention, identification, treatment, and management of concussions among youth athletes. Among the guidelines would be requirements that needed to be met before the student could return to play.
