NBA News: Orlando Magic Guard Jason Williams Out 4 Weeks After Knee Surgery

News

Williams will undergo knee surgery Thursday and is expected to miss 4 weeks.

An MRI on Williams knee showed loose cartilage but no tears, so doctors will perform arthroscopic knee surgery on Williams to clean up the knee that has been bothering Williams for a few weeks.

The four week recovery time could bring him back shortly before the Magic open the regular season on October 28.

Williams was expected to be the number 3 point guard this year after the Magic signed free agent Chris Duhon to serve as Jameer Nelson’s primary backup. Williams has averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds in his 11 year career.
