Staff Picks: Fight to Watch

Corey’s Pick: Vitali Klitschko vs. Shannon Briggs
Oct 16 on ESPN3.com

October is an awful month for the sport of boxing and will force fight fans to turn to the heavyweight division for answers. Unfortunately, you won’t see much beyond the usual one-sided drubbings that have become customary. Because there’s so little else to choose from, take your chances on Shannon Briggs showing up in decent shape against Vitali Klitschko and trying to force the aging Ukranian into a brawl. It won’t happen, but we can dream.

Trent’s Pick: Wilfredo Vazquez Jr vs. Ivan Hernandez
Oct 16 on Integrated Sports PPV

Picking a fight to watch in November is going to be like choosing your favorite child. Picking one for October, however, is like picking which child gets to kick you in the balls. Hernandez doesn’t deserve the title shot he’s getting against Vazquez Jr but he’s got it anyway. It’s been fun to see the development of Vazquez Jr so I’ll stay on that trail this month until the real action begins next month.
