MLB News: Milwaukee Brewers Manager Ken Macha Will Not Return To Team Next Season

News

The Brewers held an option on Macha’s contract that they are not going to pick up.

Ken Macha told the Associated Press that General Manager Doug Melvin told him the team would not be picking up his option for the 2011 season. Macha lead the Brewers to a 77-85 record this season.

Macha won two division titles with the Oakland Athletics from 2003-06. Macha led the Brewers to the playoffs in 2008, but both CC Sabathia and Ben Sheets left for free agency after the season.

Macha and Melvin are expected to have a meeting on Monday and the official announcement will be made shortly after the meeting.
