Alex Reid vs. Tom Watson does record viewing figures in the UK

News

Everyone knew it was going to be big but nobody realized it was going to be quite this big. The live screening of Bravo 4’s main event between middleweight champion Tom Watson and tabloid celebrity Alex Reid was watched by 550,000 people. It was watched by a further 126,000 on the channel’s timeshift service. My own (very rough, back of the envelope) calculations would suggest that using American methodolgy the combined rating for both showings would be in excess of 5.5 (4.5 for live broadcast).  A huge ratings triumph for BAMMA, which will be hoping to use the momentum it will has gained from the news as it prepares for the December visit of Bob Sapp.

A Comics Nexus original, Will Cooling has written about comics since 2004 despite the best efforts of the industry to kill his love of the medium. He now spends much of his time over at Inside Fights where he gets to see muscle-bound men beat each up without retcons and summer crossovers.
